Why size matters
A hanger should support the garment’s shoulder seam from end to end — no more, no less.
- Too narrow: shoulders collapse and crease
- Too wide: shoulder bumps and stretched fabric, especially on knits
- Correct width keeps garments display-ready without steaming or re-pressing
Typical size ranges
Industry-typical ranges below are orientation, not specification — always confirm final dimensions on physical samples.
- Adult top hangers: roughly 42–46 cm wide for women’s and men’s tops; broad-shoulder suit hangers go wider
- Kids hangers: scaled-down versions typically in the 25–36 cm range by age group
- Baby hangers: around 20–30 cm — our satin baby range starts at 20 cm
- Trouser and skirt hangers are sized by clamp or bar width matched to the garment
Specialty formats to know
Some garments need dedicated shapes rather than scaled standard hangers.
- Wide-shoulder and contoured hangers for suits, coats and jackets
- Clip and clamp hangers for trousers, skirts and strap garments
- Lingerie and accessory hangers with notches, loops or clips
- Anti-theft formats for hotel wardrobes
How to specify sizing in a program
Sizing is a sampling decision, not a guessing exercise.
- Measure your key garments across the shoulder seam and note the target hanger width
- Send reference garments or existing hangers — we match dimensions on counter-samples
- Approve physical samples before volume production; the approved sample is retained for reorders
- Custom dimensions are available across wooden, plastic, metal and padded constructions
